Welcome to Uptown
Vibrant and historic, this city center is a cultural hub.
Charlotte’s central business district, Uptown is dynamic and diverse, filled with over 200 restaurants and 50 different nightlife hotspots. Divided into four neighborhoods, or "wards,” by the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets, the area has benefited greatly from new development.
Home to the headquarters of several Fortune 500 companies, including Bank of America and the east coast operations of Wells Fargo, Uptown also houses many of the state’s athletic and event facilities. Countless museums, theaters, hotels, and luxe apartment complexes can be found here as well.
Real estate here consists mostly of high-rise living, but stately Victorian homes can be found in the largely residential Fourth Ward, which features the city’s historic district. Many Charlotte landmarks are found here, including the Queen Charlotte sculpture and the Four Corners Statues.
