Some people notice a home’s kitchen first. I can appreciate a great kitchen, but I’m probably checking out the garage, too.
As a Realtor and car enthusiast, I enjoy helping people discover the places and experiences that make the Charlotte area feel like home. And if your idea of a good weekend involves classic cars, conversations about horsepower, or an afternoon at the track, there are several upcoming events worth putting on your calendar.
Here’s where to get your car fix around Charlotte over the next three months.
1. World Short Track Championship
October 29–31, 2026 | The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Concord
If you prefer seeing cars in action, start here. The World Short Track Championship brings weekly dirt racers to Charlotte’s four-tenths-mile oval, with divisions including Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, and more.
This is a pick for anyone who enjoys grassroots racing and wants a weekend that comes with a little dust and plenty of engine noise. Check the daily schedule before choosing your session.
2. World of Outlaws World Finals
November 4–7, 2026 | The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Concord
Four days. Three major racing series. One reason to clear some space on your calendar.
The World Finals brings together World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Late Models, and Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds for a season-ending showdown. If you’ve been curious about dirt racing, this is an opportunity to experience several different styles of competition at one event.
3. Caffeine and Classics at Streetside Classics
November 7, 2026 | 9 a.m.–noon
800 Derita Road, Concord
Sometimes the best car conversations happen over a cup of coffee.
Streetside Classics’ Charlotte location is hosting Caffeine and Classics, with all makes and models welcome. Whether you have something to bring or simply enjoy looking around, this is an easy event to work into a Saturday morning.
For someone new to the area, a gathering like this can also be a comfortable way to meet people who already share an interest.
4. Charlotte Auto Show
November 19–22, 2026 | Charlotte Convention Center, Uptown
If you enjoy comparing vehicles, exploring new technology, or imagining what might be your next purchase, put the Charlotte Auto Show on your list.
The show brings multiple automotive brands together under one roof. Organizers also list attractions including an indoor test track, an outdoor Ride & Drive, and Built Different Blvd, featuring custom builds and performance upgrades. Check participation requirements and availability for individual experiences.
Make an afternoon of it, then find somewhere nearby for dinner and debate everyone’s favorite vehicle.
5. Cars and Coffee at Charlotte Motor Speedway
November 21 and December 19, 2026 | 8–11 a.m.
Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Zone, Concord
A relaxed morning surrounded by classics, customs, and hot rods sounds like a pretty good start to the weekend.
Cars and Coffee at Charlotte Motor Speedway offers free spectator admission, and the organizer lists no show registration fees. These two confirmed dates give you a November outing and another opportunity before the holidays.
Bring a friend, walk the lineup, and leave yourself time to talk with the owners. The story behind a car can be just as interesting as the car itself.
6. Speedway Christmas
November 20, 2026–January 3, 2027 | 6–10 p.m.
Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord
This one is a holiday drive instead of a car show, but the setting earns it a spot on the list.
Speedway Christmas features more than five million lights along a four-mile route that includes the speedway’s oval, pit road, and infield road course. Synchronized music and drive-in movies add to the experience. Check the operating calendar, ticket options, and attraction schedules before heading out.

7. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live
January 9–10, 2027 | Spectrum Center, Charlotte
For families with a younger car enthusiast, this is one to consider.
Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live comes to Spectrum Center with its 2027 Color Bash show. Performances are scheduled for Saturday at noon and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Pre-show and VIP experiences are also listed, so review what is included with your ticket before purchasing.
Finding Your People, and Your Place, in Charlotte
One of the best parts of settling into an area is finding people who enjoy the same things you do. A Saturday car gathering can turn into new friendships, a favorite weekend routine, and another reason to feel connected to your community.
And when it comes to finding a home, your hobbies deserve a place in that conversation. Maybe you want more garage space, room for your tools, or a driveway that makes everyday parking easier.
I’m Duane Lee, a Realtor with The Sears Group and a fellow car enthusiast. If you’re buying, selling, or relocating to the Charlotte area, I’d love to help you find a home that fits the way you live.
